Integrations offers a deeper dive into an overarching topic through project-based learning. Tech Mobile consultants lead or co-lead Integrations with the classroom teacher. Examples of projects include building a small car, redesigning or inventing an everyday item, and using coding to control robotics.

Career Exploration (6th – 10th grade)

Flu Outbreak
Your friend Susan has the flu and it’s not even flu season! In this career-focused gamified learning opportunity students will learn about both career opportunities and tools connected to the career clusters of Informational Technology and Disease Management. Educators can choose from Math, Science, English, and Social Studies connections when selecting the career and the tool students will learn about virtually in this engaging and timely scenario!

Fresh Food
It’s Career Day! Jane, an employee of the local cooperative farm, is sharing about how her co-op produces food. In this career-focused gamified learning opportunity students will learn about both career opportunities and tools connected to the Agricultural Science career cluster. Educators can choose from Math, Science, English, and Social Studies connections when selecting the career and the tool students will learn about virtually in this engaging and non-traditional career cluster!

Breakout boxes allow students to work on their problem-solving skills while collaborating with their peers to solve academic puzzles in an escape room like format.

Car Building
Students will construct their own cars using the materials provided by Tech Mobile. They will then explore the topic of friction using a ramp with various surfaces. There is an extra material cost with this integration.

Code.org
Students will go through the Pre-Reader Express Course A with a focus on sequencing and coding foundations. This offering can also be done virtually if necessary. Schools must provide the devices.

Edison Robot Barcodes
Learn how robots complete tasks using pre-made barcode programs. Students will interact with the robots' many sensors.

Intro to Engineering
Students will go through a mini design loop process by trying to solve the “animal habitat problem.” Students will work together to design a nest that protects an egg. They will bring their creations to life using playdough provided by Tech Mobile.

Lego We Do 2.0
Students working in pairs will learn coding basics by building a working fan out of Legos and then coding their fan to move. Lego We Do 2.0 is also a rental item.

Breakout boxes allow students to work on their problem-solving skills while collaborating with their peers to solve academic puzzles in an escape room like format.

Car Building
Students will construct their own cars using the materials provided by Tech Mobile. They will then explore the topic of force (pushes/pulls). There is an extra materials cost with this integration.

Code.org
Students will go through the Pre-Reader Express Course A with a focus on sequencing, coding foundations, and expansion into looping. This offering can also be done virtually if necessary. Schools must provide the devices.

Edison Robot Barcodes
Learn how robots complete tasks using pre-made barcode programs. Students will interact with the robots' many sensors.

Intro to Engineering
Students will go through a mini design loop processes by trying to solve the “playground problem”. Students will work together to design accessible playground equipment for all students and bring their creations to life using playdough provided by Tech Mobile.

Lego We Do 2.0
Students working in pairs will learn coding basics by building Milo the Rover out of Legos and then coding Milo to move. Lego We Do 2.0 is also a rental item.

Edison Robot EdBlock
Students are introduced to robot programming with a drag-and-drop block-based system.

Intro to Engineering
Students will go through a mini design loop process by trying to solve the simple problem posed. Students will then receive a project topic and start the planning process for their solution; students will then carry out the remainder of the design loop process with the classroom teacher. Optional second integration day for testing and redesign. 

Scratch
Students will use Scratch to explore the basics of block coding, looping, and properties. This offering can also be done virtually if needed. Schools must provide the devices.

Snap Circuits
Students working in pairs will learn the foundations of circuits using Snap Circuit kits. Snap Circuits are also a rental item.

Bitsbox Coding
Students will learn text-based coding using Bitsbox coding materials. This is a progression integration with 5-6 sessions completed throughout the school year. A Tech Mobile consultant will work directly with classroom educators to design how this integration will fit into student classwork. This could be done virtually if needed. Schools must provide the devices.

littleBits
Students will learn the foundations of electricity and circuits using littleBits to invent a new, or improve an old invention, from everyday life. The littleBits are also a rental item.

Scratch
Students will use Scratch to explore block coding foundations, looping, and properties. Schools must provide the devices.
 

Bitsbox Coding
Students will learn text-based coding using Bitsbox coding materials. This is a progression integration with 5-6 sessions completed throughout the school year. A Tech Mobile consultant will work directly with classroom educators to design how this integration will fit into student classwork. This could be done virtually if needed. Schools must provide the devices.

Block programming with powerful functionality and versatility, EdScratch is a robust platform for computer science education.

Intro to Engineering

Students will then receive a project topic and start the planning process for their solution; students will then carry out the remainder of the design loop process with the classroom teacher. Optional second integration day for testing and redesign.

Sphero Robotics
Students will learn the basics of coding foundations using Sphero robotics. Schools must provide the devices.

Amatrol - AC/DC Electrical
Using this eCurriculum learning resource, students will safely explore AC/DC electrical work. Students will start with module 1: basic circuits and advance towards module 10: troubleshooting. With the flexibility of 10 modules to work through, students can engage in learning at a pace that works for them. In addition, a consultant will guide embedded hands on activities using either the hands-on physical trainer or the eCurriculum virtual trainers. Science and math skills are emphasized in this career exploration offering.

Text-based EdPy teaches students the core of a real-world programming language, empowering them to explore robotics and coding at a more advanced level.

Sphero Robotics
Students will learn and expand their knowledge of coding foundations using Sphero robotics and complete tasks as designed by the Tech Mobile consultant and classroom teacher. Schools must provide the devices.
