Project Support Meets Practical Experience

Sourcewell funds and helps facilitate internships to bring college students into 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations serving in Cass, Crow Wing, Morrison, Todd, and Wadena counties in central Minnesota.

Local nonprofits have the opportunity to provide supplemental support to current programming or delve into special projects, while interns gain valuable work professional experience.

  • Eligibility

Your nonprofit must be a 501(c)(3) serving in Cass, Crow Wing, Morrison, Todd, or Wadena county in Central Minnesota, and must have a minimum of one full-time paid staff person or an equivalent. For example, a .75 FTE director and a .25 FTE office manager.

Interns must be enrolled in a post-secondary institution (minimum of part-time).

  • Intern Availability

Internships are made available and evaluated on a first-come, first-served basis. Each qualifying nonprofit is allowed one intern per semester, or a maximum of $7,680 a year ($12/hr). Depending on your nonprofit situation, the intern could extend up to three semesters. No internship will exceed a maximum of 640 hours.

  • Shared Commitment

Your organization is responsible for recruiting, interviewing, hiring, supervising, and evaluating the intern. Sourcewell provides $12/hr, up to 40 hours per week.
