Supporting Succession Planning & Recruitment

With retirement on the horizon for many in the current workforce, local governments are challenged to find specialized staff. To support succession planning and recruitment efforts, Sourcewell offers internship and mentorship programs.

Wendell Schultz, a long-time worker for the city of Randall, mentors a new employee as part of Sourcewell's mentorship program to facilitate a smooth transitions and succession planning.


Through unique mentorship opportunities, new staff can get up-to-speed quickly by working alongside veteran employees. From clerks and administrators to wastewater operators and law enforcement, we can help create a smooth transition to the next generation of the workforce.

Sourcewell covers $12/hr, up to 40 hrs/wk.

Working with local governments in the five-county service area, Sourcewell facilitates and funds internships to bring college students into local government offices. From grant writing and public works to administration and social services, interns provide valuable support services—all while learning about government and gaining experience.

Sourcewell covers $12/hr, up to 40 hrs/wk.
